School Visit: Mihara Elementary School

Revisited the school for the second part of the 5th grade lesson prepared by Oka Sensei and 'Jack Sparrow' Sensei.
Had fun touring the whole school and following the map prepared by the students.

School Visit - Nagatsuaka Junior High School
|
|
Promoted Malaysia at this public Junior High School. Had three sessions of PowerPoint presentation. Apart from Malaysia, the students were also introduced to Sri Lanka, USA, Korea and China.
This school visit was not like the usual ones, as it did not only involve Hirodai students but also officers from the Peace Memorial office.
I was too preoccupied for the presentation that I did not have time to take a lot of pics...

Bowling
|
|
Both Idhamu-san and Neesa chan participated in the Malaysian Students' Association annual bowling taikai. Neesa chan who played bumper bowling with 6 other kids enjoyed herself tremendously. She secured the fifth place- not a bad performance for a first timer...

Went to watch a baseball game courtesy of Chugoku Shinbum. Departed from Saijo at 11am and reached the Hiroshima Baseball 'old' Dome an hour later. The game between Hiroshima Toyo Carp and Tokyo Giants kicked off precisely at 1.30 pm. The slight drizzle did not help to cool down the temperature in the stadium. We were sweating profusely and could not enjoy the game. Hence the slight detour to Hondori in the midst of the game . Neesa chan was seen 'promoting' the Carp team along the Hondori street long during our 'inter-mission'. Loyalty to the team also made me bought a pair of red Adidas sneaker, which I did not expect was on sale.
Oh, btw, on a sad note, Hiroshima Toyo Carp lost to Tokyo Giants.

Trip to Kurume
|
|
Was invited by Arthur Meerman to conduct an English Workshop at Kurume University. Phichet, Andik and I went on Friday morning. Took the shinkansen to Hakata Station, where Arthur was waiting for us. The weather in Fukuoka was definitely hotter than Hiroshima (notice the attire Arthur was wearing ) Felt like I wasback home in Malaysia.
Had seafood pizza for lunch courtesy of Arthur at a restaurant close to the Fukuoka Tower. After that, we stopped at Arthur's house to freshen up before heading off to the university.
The students who came for the workshop was shy at first. But they participated well in the activity that we had prepared for them. After 2 hours, we left the Institute of Foreign Language, Kurume University and headed straight to the Kurume station. Phichet and Andik stayed at Arthur's house over the weekend. Oh, how I envy them! 2 days of "Cuti-cuti Fukuoka" with Arthur and family. Well, at least I revisited Fukuoka and brough back Neesa chan's Hakata Torimon!

School Visit - Mihara Shogakkou (Again)
|
|
Went to Mihara Elementary School early in the morning.
Attended the briefing session by Cherie, Oka sensei and 'Captain Jack Sparrow' 
Joined the English Language lessons in class 5-1 for about one and a half hour
Ate lunch with the students.
Participated in another lesson, which was the exact replica of the previous one, in class 5-2
Arrived in Saijo at 5 pm, feeling sleepy and tired.
p/s: Will go to the school again in July.
